A new baby for us..........

.....Puppy, that is.

Meet Lexi.

Eric got a call from the Greensburg Animal Shelter a few weeks ago asking him if he was still looking for a blue heeler. They had gotten in a 8-9 week old full blooded heeler pup that an older man had dropped off. He didn't realize how much work a puppy would be. Eric had been considering getting a playmate for Tuff outside, because he was "lonely" and "bored" :) So, of course, he went down to see her on his lunch break....without me knowing a thing. Upon his arrival home from work that evening, he was flashing pictures of this cute little girl to me....and I was like "she's cute...who is she?" thats when I found out...she was OURS. Already paid for. mmmmm hmmmmmm....its true.

So, i went to meet her at the shelter that weekend, and of course, being a crazy puppy lover myself, fell in love too. We couldn't bring her home until after her surgery to get her fixed. It was their policy...So, we visited often during the next couple of weeks. And, we got to bring her home March 13. :) Here she is after her first bath:

She is growing like a weed, and VERY rambunctious......and very unafraid of Joey and Annie, who absolutely hate her by the way....Annie gets mad if she even comes near her, and Joey, she just worries about the little rug rat getting near her beloved ball(s).....But, Tuff, he is in LOVE. They play and roll and romp together in the yard....When she is a big girl she will get to live outside with her boy toy....but, for now, she is inside tormenting the girls........ looks innocent, doesn't she?

Here is our puppy family, pre-Lexi.....if only they knew what was coming................... :)

Turned out pretty darn cute!

All ready to go!!! She did a great job!
She kept telling people all day how she was Heather's "twin"
and that she was NOT a flowergirl...she was a junior bridesmaid!

PARTY TIME:
Heather and Dad

Uncle Nick "might" have been tickling her in this one

Daddy with his little girl :)

Proof that the Scott boys do wear ties!! And they clean up pretty well!

My handsome husband (i still can't believe he wore a tie!) and I having an awesome New Years!

Watch out! Bride coming through!

Happy New Year and Congratualtions to my Sister and Joel!

ChRiStMaS TiMe is HERE! HappinESS and ChEER!

Our Christmas this year was pretty good, if you don't count a very unfortunate situation we had to deal with Christmas morning involving Madison! It wasn't Madison's fault.....and I would think by now, these things wouldn't surprise me....but they always do! If you want to know....just ask...but, thats all I will post on here about it.....because after we dealt with that, we had a great day. Lots of family time and presents.....its my favorite time of year! My pretty tree this year! I bought a new, shorter, skinnier tree...and I loved it! It didn't take up half the living room! And I also bought all new decor for it, so I wouldn't have to go through the ordeal of digging it all out of the attic! And trust me....it is an ordeal! It was great not to have to do that this year!

Here is Madison at her school Christmas party...I came in to volunteer with crafts and brought cookies. It was fun getting to see her in the classroom! Now, if only she would start being good at school!!!

Here we are with my Grandma Z. She is 94 and still doing great! We went to church together on Christmas Eve and then had dinner at her house.

CHRISTMAS DAY!!!
Madison opening up presents...it was kind of rushed this year due to the time we had to take to deal with the "situation".....but, she got lots of nice things!
Santa brought her miniature frogs!!!....or turtles as she kept calling them....hence their names....Turtle 1 & Turtle 2 :)

Merry Christmas Joey! :)

At Dad and Tami's for Christmas opening gifts! And yes, you can't see it too well, but that's my husband with the hat on I bought him for Christmas..... Aren't I the greatest??
He is ONLY to wear this when he goes Snowboarding.....

Opening her favorite gift, the easel.
(Another peek at the hat Eric loves so much!)

And at the end of the day, Annie and Madison are spent.
Hope everyone had a great Christmas!!! We did!

Ho ho hO

Our good friends, The Englands, had a Christmas Party at their house this past Friday. I got our attire at Old Navy a few hours before the party! LOL
Don't we look like little kids on Christmas morning??
Jordan (Naughty Mrs. Clause)
and Brian (Uncle Eddie from National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation)

And I had to add Jen and Scott because they were freakin' hilarious! Scott made this costume himself...and his "snow" kept falling out on the floor all night. Love it!

Great Party Jordy and Brian!

Thankful

Here we are on Thanksgiving.....Eric's mom and dad were here from Florida and his sis and bro were here from Ohio. It was nice to be able to have everybody there for Thanksgiving. (Grandma K got in on the photo shoot too!)

And now, we have a new addition to our family!!!! This is...................well, he doesn't officially have a name yet.....We got him from Southern Indiana Cattle Dog Rescue. They save many many cattle dogs from horrible situations and impending euthansia at shelters. What they do is amazing, and I am so happy Eric decided to get a dog from a place like this....instead of a puppy.

He is very playful and loving....they think he is only 11 months old. I think he is happy and thankful to have a new home.....and we are happy and thankful to be able to give him one... :)

Joey, on the other hand, isn't so sure..............

~Rest in Peace...Our little Ropey Dopey~

I am very sad to say that our dear Rope has left us and went to Heaven. He got sick Monday night and passed away at the vet's office Tuesday night sometime. I feel absolutely horrible and am crying as I type this right now. He was all alone when he died.....that hurts me so much to think of....I know I thought I was doing the right thing by leaving him there, but, now.....I wish so much I would have brought him home. We might not have been able to comfort him, but at least he wouldn't have been in a strange place.
All I can hope for is that he was died in his sleep, and he didn't suffer.
I pray that was what happened.
He was such an amazing dog....So laid back and sweet.
All he wanted was love and attention. I wish I would have given him more of that.
We brought Rope home from a party exactly three years ago....he was a stray and he was COVERED in fleas....it was so sad...and with his sweet temperament, we couldn't help but bring him home. I remember it was cold outside, and every morning when I pulled in the driveway coming home from work...he would climb up in my car with me when I opened the door...and I would let him lay in my lap and cuddle for awhile to get warm....he got into my heart. Then a short time after we had him, he ran away. I was so upset. I put an add in the Shelbyville news, and after days of searching and worrying, I got a phone call....someone had found him and given him to their daughter....She wanted to keep him, but I knew I wanted him back. I missed my sweet boy. That's what lead to us putting in our underground fence. I didn't want to loose him again. Since then, he has been such a great dog.
He loved to chase cars and pretend to be intimidating when tractors and big trucks drove by....for some reason he loved to eat the cigarette butts people threw in the yard....he loved to chase Annie when we play ball and bite at her ankles...I always yelled at him for that....but, it was pretty amusing to watch...When ever I sat outside, he just wanted to be close to me...
He just wanted to be loved.
I did love Rope so much....as I would a child...He is going to be missed so much. I pray he is playing with his old buddy Cowboy (who we lost one year ago this week)....I hope he knows how much I loved him.....
We love you Rope.

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane.
I would walk right up to Heaven and bring you back again.
No farewell words were spoken. No time to say "Goodbye".
You were gone before I knew it...and only God knows why.
My heart still aches with sadness...and secret tears still flow.
What it meant to love you-No one can ever know.
But now I know you want me to mourn for you no more.
To remember all the happy times...life still has much in store.
Since you'll never be forgotten. I pledge to you today-
A hollowed place within my heart is where you'll always stay.
