Ho ho hO

Our good friends, The Englands, had a Christmas Party at their house this past Friday. I got our attire at Old Navy a few hours before the party! LOL
Don't we look like little kids on Christmas morning??
Jordan (Naughty Mrs. Clause)
and Brian (Uncle Eddie from National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation)

And I had to add Jen and Scott because they were freakin' hilarious! Scott made this costume himself...and his "snow" kept falling out on the floor all night. Love it!

Great Party Jordy and Brian!

Thankful

Here we are on Thanksgiving.....Eric's mom and dad were here from Florida and his sis and bro were here from Ohio. It was nice to be able to have everybody there for Thanksgiving. (Grandma K got in on the photo shoot too!)

And now, we have a new addition to our family!!!! This is...................well, he doesn't officially have a name yet.....We got him from Southern Indiana Cattle Dog Rescue. They save many many cattle dogs from horrible situations and impending euthansia at shelters. What they do is amazing, and I am so happy Eric decided to get a dog from a place like this....instead of a puppy.

He is very playful and loving....they think he is only 11 months old. I think he is happy and thankful to have a new home.....and we are happy and thankful to be able to give him one... :)

Joey, on the other hand, isn't so sure..............

~Rest in Peace...Our little Ropey Dopey~

I am very sad to say that our dear Rope has left us and went to Heaven. He got sick Monday night and passed away at the vet's office Tuesday night sometime. I feel absolutely horrible and am crying as I type this right now. He was all alone when he died.....that hurts me so much to think of....I know I thought I was doing the right thing by leaving him there, but, now.....I wish so much I would have brought him home. We might not have been able to comfort him, but at least he wouldn't have been in a strange place.
All I can hope for is that he was died in his sleep, and he didn't suffer.
I pray that was what happened.
He was such an amazing dog....So laid back and sweet.
All he wanted was love and attention. I wish I would have given him more of that.
We brought Rope home from a party exactly three years ago....he was a stray and he was COVERED in fleas....it was so sad...and with his sweet temperament, we couldn't help but bring him home. I remember it was cold outside, and every morning when I pulled in the driveway coming home from work...he would climb up in my car with me when I opened the door...and I would let him lay in my lap and cuddle for awhile to get warm....he got into my heart. Then a short time after we had him, he ran away. I was so upset. I put an add in the Shelbyville news, and after days of searching and worrying, I got a phone call....someone had found him and given him to their daughter....She wanted to keep him, but I knew I wanted him back. I missed my sweet boy. That's what lead to us putting in our underground fence. I didn't want to loose him again. Since then, he has been such a great dog.
He loved to chase cars and pretend to be intimidating when tractors and big trucks drove by....for some reason he loved to eat the cigarette butts people threw in the yard....he loved to chase Annie when we play ball and bite at her ankles...I always yelled at him for that....but, it was pretty amusing to watch...When ever I sat outside, he just wanted to be close to me...
He just wanted to be loved.
I did love Rope so much....as I would a child...He is going to be missed so much. I pray he is playing with his old buddy Cowboy (who we lost one year ago this week)....I hope he knows how much I loved him.....
We love you Rope.

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane.
I would walk right up to Heaven and bring you back again.
No farewell words were spoken. No time to say "Goodbye".
You were gone before I knew it...and only God knows why.
My heart still aches with sadness...and secret tears still flow.
What it meant to love you-No one can ever know.
But now I know you want me to mourn for you no more.
To remember all the happy times...life still has much in store.
Since you'll never be forgotten. I pledge to you today-
A hollowed place within my heart is where you'll always stay.

I aM SaD :(

Madison went back with her mom. :( I had planned on taking her to a pumpkin patch this weekend and then carving pumpkins together. However, due to my work schedule and being wiped out from being sick this week.....I was too tired. Plus, it was pretty cold and cloudy yesterday when I was planning to go (even tho the sun came out at 5pm!) I just had no energy to do anything! We didn't do much, and now we won't see her again for two weeks. Bummer.
I wish she could just stay with us all the time. It would be better. Maybe I shouldn't say that, but this is my blog, and I can say what I want! I am blogging my inner-feelings!! There is a whole lot more I could say about the subject, but....I won't. If you don't have anything nice to say....don't say anything at all....Right?? LOL Here is a picture she colored me this weekend. She said "Thats you with blonde hair." I <3 her.

I am ready to be a mommy.

The Before.........

haha...excuse the clothes sticking out of the drawers!
nice storage bins in my bedroom right?? see what i have to deal with for the lack of closet and storage space in this house??

Ok, I need your help....I have this furniture in my bedroom....its old. well, as old as me....i believe my mom told me my dad and her got this furniture after they were married...and i am "almost" 30 so, it's almost antique! haha :) Anyways, I am sick of it. I don't want to get rid of it, but I have been thinking of painting it and "antiquing" it and adding new hardware....maybe doing away with the mirrors on the dresser and putting a different/old mirror above the dresser..was also thinking of doing a completely different headboard all together...idk!
I found this stuff by looking at some of the other blogs I stalk.... the website is: http://www.caromalcolours.com/distresssee.php it has these cool paint products/kits that you can do to furniture to distress it.....i.e. make them look awesome! i just don't know if i should try it?? what if i mess it up?? ... if you have ideas for how i can make this furniture look cool...let me know! :)

Covered Bridge Festival 2009

This is me with my good friend Jordan and my sis on our 2nd annual trip to Parke County, Indiana last weekend. Such an adventure! Thanks to Flo (my navigation system in my Yukon, lol) we found our way to many beautiful covered bridges, good deals, good food, and an awesome time. Love you girls! Can't wait for next year!

When it Rains (or doesn't)....we find an umbrella!

We decided to brave the weather and pray for sunny skies and head down to Dale Hollow to take Madison boating one last time. We drove down Friday night and got settled into our cabin....Saturday morning we got the boat in the water, and the weather was awesome!! Our luck had turned around!!....However, after about 2 hours of fun on the water....we found a hole...in our boat.... (well in some part of the engine or exhaust or something)...and our weekend of boating came to a screeching hault... :( But we made the best of it and just spent the day driving around and then taking a nap in our cabin! Sunday we loaded up and headed home, making a stop at Kentucky Down Under. All in all, it was a good weekend together! Eric and Madison headed back up the creek to the waterfall....the temperature of the water is shockingly cold on your bare feet!!!

Climbed up with daddy! :) So pretty!

Went for a walk with daddy to see the dam

Petting a Kangaroo for the first time ever!! (for me too)

Madison got to milk a cow and feed a baby goat, and then we all got attacked by birds!!! It was nuts!

Emma and Madison....together at last :)

Eric's brother, Nick, brought his daughter, Emma, over for a weekend in August....The girls had a lot of fun playing together !! We took them boating and Emma loved it! Good times with the fam!

Emma went tubing with her daddy!

Uncle Nick got up on the wakeboard!!

But what goes up...must come down!

Playing on the swingset together....then a waterballoon fight and slip and slide! What a weekend! Hope to see Emma Lou again soon!

Better Late than Never!

Hello All!! Sorry for the long delay in posting!!! I will get right to the point since its been so long...Things around here are good...Eric is busy busy busy in the fields...he works everyday (that rain doesn't stop) from 7a until at least 8 or 9p, sometimes later! So I am a lonley farmers wife right now! However, I tend to enjoy this time of the year.....I don't have to plan dinner very often and I get to do my own thing!! It does get boring tho, I will say.

We got plans back to do the addition on our house....We also got the quote from a builder....woah! Like I thought, it was very pricey...So, we are playing with options right now. Next step is getting our house appraised to see if it will be worth what we will need to borrow from the bank when this is all done. So, we will see! Its very stressful! I just want a bigger house so we can go forward with our family...And speaking of that, we are NO LONGER trying to NOT get pregnant....so, if we do...it will be very exciting for us!

We had a great summer....our anniversary trip to the Bahamas was amazing. Eric got to ride with my uncle Jeff from Islamorada, FL (in the keys) to Long Island, Bahama...where my aunt and uncle's house (The Gecko House) is. That was an amazing experience for him! And I am so glad he got to do it. We saw so many awesome things on our trip....Here are a few pics to decribe how beautiful it is there (even tho the pics just don't do justice to the real thing!)

The view from Gecko House

This was the view from the boat at Conception Island, Bahamas. No houses on this island, only a sandy beach...

Me and a friend of my aunt's laying on the Cape beach....said to be one of the most beautiful beaches in the world....it was breathtaking....

On our one year anniversary...we spent this day on a boat visiting Sandy Key, Exumas....amazing...amazing...amazing :)

Snorkeling Deans Blue Hole, said to be the deepest blue hole in the world....very cool...this pic was taken looking down from the cliff. Click here for information about this place... http://www.stellamarisdiving.com/bluehole.html

This trip was absolutely the coolest thing we have done...we were able to see so much having my aunt and uncle's boat there....these pics don't even come close to capturing all the cool places we were able to visit!

I'm on a boat!!!!!!!!!

Our trip to Dale Hollow this year was amazing. We had such a great time together by ourselves the first few days. It is so peaceful and beautiful on that lake. Then our friends Jordan, Brian, Josh and Justin came down to join us on Wednesday night. My sister, Heather, and Eric's brother, Nick, came down Thursday night to join in the good time and celebrate July 4th. Good times! For all of you out there who have heard the oh so fantastic song "I'm on a boat!"......Well, let me just say, it was played a few times while drinking the days away in a cove. In fact, we quoted it quite often at all times during the trip. LOL

Eric and I have really found a love for being on the water on our boat. I was a little worried about spending an entire week boating everyday....but, I loved it. I wish Dale Hollow was a little closer so we could go more often. The lakes around here just don't compare. We hope to plan a trip like this every year now. And we are hoping to get down there at least one more time this year!

Here is Eric trying out the rope swing in a cove that we found. He had a lot of fun with this. I, on the otherhand, did not attempt it. Chicken, I know.

What a life.... just floatin' in a cove.

Eric wakeboarding. He got much better on this trip! Again, not attempted by me! However, I did attempt to get up on skis one day when I had a little liquid courage in me! It didn't really go too well! LOL

So, THE reason we chose 4th of July week to go on our boating trip, was to see fireworks on the water. Duh. And right before we are getting ready to head out on the boat to go see them, we hear a storm front is moving in. Check the radar, talk about it, talk about it, talk about it...and finally I decided..."Oh WELL! I came here to see fireworks! Lets just do it!" So, we loaded up the boat and left. Somehow, the dark scary clouds whick looked like impending doom, stayed far enough away for us to see some fireworks. The wind picked up, and it got a little rough on the water, hence the blurry firework pic. But, hey, I got to see my fireworks on the water. It started to POUR as we pulled into the marina. Nice driving Eric!

Ok, I'm a slacker........

So, I haven't posted in awhile. But, I have excuses! We have had such a busy and fun summer!! Parties and two vacations in a month...whew....what a life. Now, we are back to reality. I will do my best to get some things posted here over the next few days!

First and foremost...Madison turned 6! Its hard to believe she is getting so big. We have sooooooooo enjoyed having her a lot this summer. She is getting ready to go back to school and start FIRST GRADE next Wednesday! Woo Hoo! Here are some pics of her birthday party! :)

The cute little cake I made! (With help from Jordy:) )

Playing in the sandbox with her party guests Swimsuit from MeMaw and Papaw Jerry

(and yes, she has her hillbilly teeth in! Thank you Jeanie!)

Her own plate from Aunt Diana, Uncle Tim, Jacob and Will! Awesome!

Her new bike! (from us...p.s. she is already learning to
ride in the grass without the training wheels)

Standing next to her cake!

It was such a fun party with good friends and family. She had a great time!

"Get Hammer'd" needs to go!

This past Saturday, we took the boat out for its first voyage this year! It ran great, and we are getting pumped for our trip to the lake. Eric got to use the wake board tower for the first time, and he did awesome. Only 10 days until we leave! And we will be so busy leading up to that, I am sure it will go very fast!

Maddie turns 6 this weekend, and we are having a birthday party for her. Her actual birthday is Father's day, so, I would like to plan something fun to do for that day. Maybe boating? Maybe something else? I don't know! But, since we have her on her birthday, we need to make the most of it! :) I can't believe she is already 6 years old. Growing like a weed! (well, getting taller, not thicker...just like her daddy!)

We have been getting so much rain here, its crazy. No flooding. But the ground just stays wet! I guess that has been good for the flowers. My hydrangea bush has a bloom on it for the first time since I planted it probably three years ago! I guess I never watered it enough! Its a pink bloom. So pretty! Lets just hope for no rain Saturday when I have people over for the party....wouldn't want all those people frolicking in my house! :)

Speaking of the boat again, I want to rename it. Eric, on the other hand, thinks its bad luck. It is currently named "Get Hammer'd" Now, that might sound clever to some, but it references the last name of people we bought it from...Hammer. I can't acutally come up with a new clever name, but I still think we need to change it. Apparently, it's not bad luck IF you perfrom a special ceremony when renaming the boat. You have to pray to the God of the Water, break a bottle or something....I don't know. But, I think it needs done. Hopefully, I can convince Mr. Scott that as well....I just need to come up with something good to name her. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm......

Countdown to Dale Hollow

Hello!

Eric is done planting! Well, kinda. We thought he was, but he has to go back and replant a few fields that aren't growing right. The heavy rain too soon after planting makes the dirt really hard and it makes the beans have trouble growing....or something like that. Eric tells me these things, and I try to really pay attention! :) Sooooooooo...we are hoping to get the boat out this weekend for a little trip. Keep your fingers crossed for good weather!

We have Madison staying with us right now for some of her summer break. It's been nice having her with us. She spent the night with Granny Mel (my mom) Saturday night while Eric was working and I went to the Rascal Flatts concert with my girlfriends. They had fun together, as usual! She spent today with my Aunt Mary Kay. She lives on a small lake, and they swam and took a ride on the pontoon. She had a blast, as usual. And tomorrow she is going to spend the day with Tami (my step mom). They are going up to see Aunt Diana, Jacob and Will in Indy for the day. So, I am sure that will be a great time too. Then tomorrow night she will have a softball game. She's staying pretty busy! And since I work nights, I haven't seen her that much :( But I am off tonight and this weekend.

Our Dale Hollow trip is approaching...18 days! We are so ready to get down there and enjoy the sun and lake on our boat for a whole week! Its going to be a great time! (I will miss my puppies though :( )Then two weeks after that, we are spending a week for our anniversary in the Bahamas at my Aunt Toni's beach house. Yay! SO EXCITED for all of that! Then, hopefully after those trips, we can focus on something else......details to follow :)

WaKebOaRdinG bY tHe BaRn

Well....it was a great weekend here! The weather has been really beautiful and I have enjoyed spending some time outside! Eric has still been busy planting in the fields when the rain stays away....unfortunately, they still have a lot left to plant :( Which means they will be in the fields much later this fall for harvest. But, they will get it done eventually!

We hung out with some good friends this weekend! Went over to Brian and Jordan's for some patio building and a yummy dinner... Did a little boating down at Lake Santee with our friends Justin, Steph, and Josh.... Eric got up on his wake board on his first try! Go Eric! He has inspired me to want to try and learn. I am so scared to do it and I am afraid I will not be able to. But, hopefully I will get the courage up to try :)

Eric worked on the boat this weekend and put on our new WAKE BOARD TOWER! He was like a little kid on Christmas! We spent today just getting the boat ready and just hanging out in the boat. I can't wait to get it in the water! :) Doesn't it look great?

Madison is thoroughly enjoying her playground so far. She learned a new skill this weekend ...going across the monkey bars! Her swing set has the "monkey handles?" She was pretty pumped about it! Tomorrow is her last day of school! We are going to have her quite a bit throughout her summer break. That is good news for us.

Planting Cotton Candy Beans

Okay...I will make this post the official first one....I decided to start this blog after some persuasion from my friend Kasey :) at work..I thought it would be a good way (outside of facebook and myspace) to keep our family and friends updated on life in the Scott household! :) I will do my best to keep it updated as our adventure through life goes on! Enjoy!

Hello All!! Alot has been going on! Madison is in softball this summer, so we decided to take her out of gymnastics for awhile. She liked it, but it kinda seemed like we were paying $$ every month for her to go play in a gym once a week. She wasn't really learning much! Maybe we will put her back in that or dance in the fall! Here's Maddie's first game:

We had Madison with us last weekend and decided to venture out to the exciting St. Joe Fair! Besides getting to see some girl sitting next to the Gravitron (spinning spaceship ride) with a large pile of vomit underneath her feet...it was a good day!

We also went up and saw my new baby nephew, Zaden, at the hospital! Congrats to my brother, Andy, and his girlfriend Angel. He is so precious! I am very excited to be an aunt! And we had my grandma Patty and grandpa Bill out for pizza. They just got up here to Indiana to spend the summer!

Eric also planted my mother's day present in the yard! A weeping willow tree! I think they are so pretty and told him that was what I wanted for Mother Day! He had to remember why I got a Mother's Day present now (oh yeah, you are a step-mom now! haha) but he got it ordered and planted! I can't wait to see it grow!

Eric is planting beans today...finally. They haven't been able to plant more than two days the past few weeks due to all this rain we have had! So, hopefully now... Its on! Lets get those fields planted! We want to get that done and over with so we have time to get our boat out! We are looking forward to a week long trip over Eric's birthday and the fourth of July to Dale Hollow Lake! It will be incredible!

Eric also finally got Maddie's swing set all stained and we got the mulch FINALLY! It looks great! She loves it!

I have the weekend off, and in a little bit... Madison will be here! Her mom had to "work" so asked us if we could keep her! So, hopefully we will find something fun to do while daddy's in the fields. Hope everybody has a great Memorial Day weekend!
